*Entergalactic*

Hi my Friends! How are you?

And Just Like That (p.s. did you hear the 2nd season has started filming?! *SCREAM*)...it's October! The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, ghouls and goblins are hangin' on front lawns, and pumpkin spice is pretty much everywhere. Soon (but not TOO soon) we'll be pulling out Winter attire! That is seriously a crazy thought...anyway though...staying in the current season - I feel like Fall is the time to unwind and reset. I mean...I'm still coming down from Summer LOL! The vibe for Fall is definitely chillmode. I'm not saying I never wanna turn up in Fall, I just sometimes enjoy a cozy night in. you know - ordering take-out, spiked warm drinks, cozying up to the fire, watching movies. Honestly, just give me a good show and a blanket and I'm good any day!

As luck would have it, I stumbled across a magically creative film the other day on Netflix called Entergalactic. It's a Black, animated, feel-good film created by Kid Cudi, Kenya Barris and Ian Edelman. Disclaimer: I'm not typically into adult animation or cartoons, but Entergalactic is a different vibe. I instantly told my besties about it LOL😜 It's just so cute and refreshing! I decided to watch because I'm a fan of both Kid Cudi & Kenya Barris, and also because of the look of the characters (they digitally resemble the actors who voice them: Kid Cudi, Jessica Williams, Laura Harrier, Ty Dolla $ign). No spoilers here but I will provide my brief synopsis: Entergalactic follows a talented Black artist named Jabari who just landed his dream apartment in New York City and an amazing job illustrating for a comic book series. one tiny catch though - his new apartment happens to be next-door to a Black, freespiritied P.Y.T named Meadow. Their connection is instant & undeniable. But you've heard the saying "Mo Money, Mo Problems" right? Lets just say their relationship is tested and Jabari is forced to figure out the balance between success & relationships. As I said earlier this film is refreshing. I find it refreshing because it's light-hearted, and I don't feel Hollywood provides the Black community with enough light-heartedness. A lot of Black films portray some sort of trauma, and it's just nice to have a happy ending (that isn't corny!) sometimes, you know? just my opinion. Oh, and did I mention the Soundtrack to Entergalactic?!? Elevated & Amazing! Entergalactic does a great job of bringing the art of film & music together. Well, that's my 2 cents. Let me know if you've already watched, or plan on watching Entergalactic
